NLP teaches advance communication models. It recognises that different people receive and process information in different ways and therefore it is necessary to adapt our communication to their needs. NLP also says that effective human communication is largely non-verbal and NLP teaches special rapport building methods.
According to NLP, the meaning of your communication is not necessarily what you intend it to be, but rather what is understood by the recipient. This is an important distinction.
Increasingly, salespeople, customer service people, teachers, managers and anyone whose job involves communication are training in NLP.
